Heidi Klum’s son Henry: ‘My parents are a great inspiration’
Heidi Klum (52) has reason to be happy, as not only daughter Leni Klum (21) but also son Henry Samuel (20) has taken a liking to the modeling world. Mother and son can now be seen independently in a new issue of ‘Tush’ magazine.
In the magazine of former ‘GNTM’ judge Armin Morbach, Heidi Klum poses in extraordinary Mugler looks and eccentric hairstyles as a tribute to Veruschka von Lehndorff (86), the first German supermodel. Son Henry Samuel was portrayed in elegant black and white photographs and celebrated his ‘Tush’ debut, accompanied by an interview.
Parents as ‘great inspiration’
The 20-year-old, who comes from Klum’s marriage to British musician Seal (62), provides insight into his development from celebrity child to independent personality in the conversation. ‘When I was younger, I actually didn’t like being in the public eye,’ he openly shares. He was very introverted and it took time ‘until I really felt comfortable in my own skin.’ His parents are a ‘great inspiration’ as both love what they do. They are very optimistic and ambitious people and taught him to ‘follow my own path and supported me in becoming the person I really want to be.’ While they have long since found their passion, he himself is still searching – ‘but I’ve tried various things, in music and fashion.’
He came into contact with fashion early on and found joy in it. ‘When I was a child, Leni even dressed me in her princess dresses. I didn’t mind at all. I loved it. For me, it was like a costume and like stepping into a different role.’ Besides fashion and music, which always helps him ‘to calm down when I feel stressed or nervous,’ cars are a passion of his. He loves driving, enjoys going to car shows, and is currently learning to work on cars himself.
In the interview, Henry also talks about his connection to Germany. Besides stays in Munich and Berlin, holidays with his grandparents in Bergisch Gladbach particularly shaped him. The house with adjacent forest, a cow pasture, and a BMX track is ‘very nostalgic and familiar to me – what I associate most strongly with Germany. For me, it feels like home.’
