Giovanni Zarrella’s First Christmas Show: Here’s What We Know
New show for Giovanni Zarrella (47): On December 4 (8:15 PM on ZDF), he will present his first Christmas show live from Offenburg. Beatrice Egli, No Angels, Andreas Gabalier, Alexander Klaws, and the Irish dance formation Lord Of The Dance have already been announced as guests for “The Great Christmas Show”. Howard Carpendale (79) will also be there, who recently announced his farewell tour for 2026.
Celebrities Will Answer Donation Hotlines
“We’re starting the advent season with a new show and presenting ‘The Great Christmas Show’ for the first time”, announces the account of the “Giovanni Zarrella Show” in an Instagram story. But the show is about more than music and entertainment. The focus is on charity: The gala collects donations for the aid organizations Misereor and Bread for the World.
In addition to the performing artists, other celebrities from entertainment and sports will support the show. During the live broadcast, they will take donations by phone and encourage the audience to participate.
Replacement for Carmen Nebel
For Giovanni Zarrella, this is another ZDF format following his established Saturday evening show. The network continues its tradition of major charity galas during the pre-Christmas season. For almost two decades, Carmen Nebel (69) hosted the charity show “The Most Beautiful Christmas Hits”. She moderated for the last time on December 5, 2024. “The show will continue, I’m quite sure of that. Then I’ll sit on the couch and watch. It was wonderful, and I enjoyed doing it”, Nebel said in her farewell. Her gala also supported both aid organizations.
ZDF is also missing another major music show this year: The “Helene Fischer Show”, traditionally shown on December 25. It has been canceled due to the birth of her second daughter, as Helene Fischer (41) announced via Instagram in September.
