Helene Fischer (41) is rightfully referred to again and again as the queen of Schlager music. She has been one of the biggest German music stars for years. The singer, who became a mother for the second time this summer, feels like she has arrived. She talks about her life today – and about the fact that she actually prefers to keep her private life out of the public eye – in the podcast “MayWay”.

“I’m actually known for not opening up my private life”, Fischer says. “But with this song, I let everyone look really deep inside. I still get goosebumps today when I hear it”, she says about her song “Hand in Hand”. With it, she “allowed myself to be vulnerable. But also strong at the same time. And I think that’s exactly what you feel in every line.” About the album “Rausch”, she explains: “Everything inside me was screaming. I had to write down my feelings and thoughts.” Fischer felt the need to “tell my own stories”.

But at the moment, things look completely different with two children and by the side of her partner Thomas Seitel. “Right now, I don’t have the need to open up at all”, Fischer says. She’s also happy to accept songs written for her again and put her own stamp on them. “But my way of thinking has changed. I’m very calm right now. And very centered.”

In both her extraordinary job and in her life, she always gives 100 percent. “This year belongs to my family”, Fischer explains. “I’m very conscious and very withdrawn. Completely at peace. And I’m enjoying this different everyday life. Not the big Helene, but the private one.” That’s why her big ZDF Christmas show won’t be happening this year either.

“Well, like every woman, like every mother”

But 2025 will soon be over, and in 2026 she’s going on a big tour as part of her 20th stage anniversary. She’s also already “really looking forward” to what’s ahead. How does she combine all the work with being a mom? “Well, like every woman, like every mother. Of course, I have to organize and plan much more. But I’m also someone who consciously takes time to really make everything consistent and harmonious.” Today she is happy: “I’m very centered. And life writes its own script anyway. I accept everything gratefully. Whatever comes.”

“I’m currently switching from my other role to professional Helene”, she also recently said in conversation with “Brisant” celebrity expert Susanne Klehn. But she can still “fully enjoy” the Christmas season, as she revealed. “So in general, I’m actually a total bon vivant, even though you might think I’m super disciplined all year round. That’s not the case at all. I really let life be life and also really let loose.”
