Heidi Klum is a planner — and she’s already ahead of the game for next Halloween.

The Queen of Halloween, 52, hasn’t even unveiled her 2025 Halloween costume (though she’s teased it a few times), but she’s already looking ahead to next year’s look. While she admits that some years she finds herself struggling to find an idea (due, in part, to the amount of pressure she puts on herself), the 2026 costume plan came to her early.

“I already know what I’m doing next year, which is such a blessing, because oh my god, sometimes it’s hard,” Klum tells PEOPLE while discussing her latest gig with L’Oréal Paris. “Sometimes the pressure’s on. I’m like, ‘I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know.’ Now I already know what to do next year. Oh, it makes that so much easier for me because I literally rack my brain. I have a pit in my stomach when I can’t come up with something. So I’m happy that I figured all of it out for next year too.”

Klum has become known for her over-the-top Halloween costumes each year. Last year, she and husband Tom Kaulitz both dressed as E.T. from the 1982 film. On the red carpet at her annual Halloween party, Klum told PEOPLE she decided to embody the character because E.T. has been “part of most of our lives” and she’s always been “a big fan.”

“[I] kind of thought about the universe in a different way and I thought E.T. was so cute and how he was wiggling around and all the moments when E.T. got dressed up with a wig and everything so I just thought it would be fun to become E.T. and especially to see two,” she added.

When it comes to her Halloween costumes, Klum tells PEOPLE that she always does it big, simply because she loves Halloween and playing dress-up.

“I never take the easy way out,” she says of her costumes and party. “People say, ‘Why the heck are you doing this?’ I do it for the art of it, of transformation, of surprising people also. It’s like a life performance art thing in a way because you see so much AI and things are being photographed, repatched, this, that and the other.”

The Project Runway host also likes to show out for Halloween because she knows how many eyes are on her for the spooky holiday. Klum doesn’t want to let anyone down by choosing the boring or easy way out with a costume.

“I always try to come up with something that is giving people an ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ and a wow because I want to inspire people to also do something creative,” she shares.

At Klum’s 2022 Halloween party — where she dressed as a large worm while Kaulitz was a fisherman — she shared with reporters that she planned to start prepping for the 2023 costume and celebration the very next day.

“When I wake up tomorrow, I start thinking of the next [costume],” she shared.

For that costume, she shared that it took about 12 hours on the day of the party to fully get ready. Klum showed part of her getting-ready process in an Amazon live stream earlier in the day. While she was careful to not give away what her final look would be, she did tease a bit about it, also opening up about starting the process at 11 a.m.

Later in the night, she ditched the costume and continued to party in a crystal-covered nude look. Her worm face paint and prosthetics stayed on her face for the rest of the evening, though.
