Heidi Klum says it’s an “honor” to be hosting the men’s FIFA World Cup draw once again, as the German supermodel and TV presenter prepares to anchor today’s event in Washington, D.C.

Klum is to co-host the group-stage draw for the 2026 World Cup, a tournament held next June and July in Canada, Mexico and the U.S., alongside the comedian Kevin Hart and the actor Danny Ramirez.

The draw itself is to be conducted by retired soccer star Rio Ferdinand, alongside the broadcaster Samantha Johnson.

Ferdinand and Johnson are to be joined by four draw assistants who are all legends of North American major-league sport: seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady; four-time Stanley Cup champion Wayne Gretzky; three-time MLB MVP Aaron Judge; and four-time NBA winner Shaquille O’Neal.

“A highlight I’ll never forget”

For Klum, this will be her second time as World Cup draw co-anchor. The 52-year-old was also handed hosting duties in Leipzig in December 2005, ahead of the following year’s tournament in her native Germany.

Posting on social media on Thursday, Klum said: “Hosting the World Cup Draw was a highlight I’ll never forget. And now, 20 years later, I get to do it all over again in Washington. What an honor!”

Earlier on Thursday, Klum could also be seen getting into the festive spirit as she modelled the new “Christmas collection” of a major lingerie brand – an endorsement that contributes to her reported $40m annual earnings. “I love red and I love the holiday season,” she wrote.

Having risen to fame in the 1990s as a Victoria’s Secret model and Sports Illustrated cover star, Klum has since also established herself as the host and executive producer of several fashion-related TV shows. They include the reality programs Project Runway, Germany’s Next Top Model and Making the Cut.

Staged at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the 2026 World Cup draw takes place today, Friday December 5, at 12:00 noon ET/9:00 a.m. PT.

Viewers in the U.S. can watch the draw on Fox, Peacock, Telemundo and Universo. Streaming options also include fubo, which offers new a free trial.
