Heidi Klum is taking a moment to celebrate a major milestone in her daughter Lou’s life—she is 16. In an October 9 Instagram post, the model paid tribute to her daughter with a series of adorable, rarely seen throwback selfies that featured the mother-daughter pair cuddling up as they smile for the camera.

“Lou my beautiful sunshine ❤️ / Happy 16 th Birthday 🎁🥳🎈🌺🎂 / I love you with my whole heart ❤️,” she wrote in the caption.

Lou Sulola Samuel is the third child of Klum and her ex-husband Seal. The former couple also share sons Henry and Johan, born in 2005 and 2007, respectively. Klum is also mother to 21-year-old daughter Leni, whom she shares with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore.

Last month, Klum hosted her own pre-Oktoberfest television special known as HeidiFest. Lou and Klum’s other children all took part. Last year, Klum shared a rare photo with her children to mark her 51st birthday. “All I could ask for,” Klum captioned the post.

It seems that Lou has inherited one very important thing from her mother: her famous love of Halloween. Although her other kids apparently “couldn’t care less” for spooky season, Lou is on board.

“I was hoping that I would pass this on even to my kids, but out of four, there’s only one that really is going for it and that’s Lou,” Klum told People. Her last costume involved “full on makeup, the hair, all the accessories.”
