Why hasn’t Heidi Klum released a Halloween song yet?

The unofficial Queen of Halloween turns heads every October with elaborate costumes (from Medusa to a worm and beyond) at her annual Heidiween party in New York City, and she loves to make music every now and then — including her recent Diplo collaboration “Red Eye” for Germany’s Next Topmodel.

But despite dropping the Christmas single “Wonderland” back in 2006, she hasn’t gotten around to making a spooky anthem just yet.

“Ooh, see, maybe this is our new something that we should work on together,” Klum tells Diplo in a recent interview with PEOPLE.

“I love that idea,” agrees Diplo, who shares that his favorite Halloween song is the Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck” from 1981. “I just love that era of music. Kind of silly, but it’s an Addam’s Family kind of thing. It’s a timeless record. I really like that kind of garage-y Halloween.”

“Yeah,” adds Klum. “Maybe this needs to be our new goal because this is definitely a hole in the marketplace.”

“I could for sure make you one,” says Diplo. “I think we just gotta get the Wednesday TV show to put it on and then we’re set. Or Stranger Things. I think that’s over, but we just need it in a TV show and then it’ll rock.”

Beyond making “Red Eye” together and dreaming of a potential Halloween collaboration, Diplo also has some ideas about Klum’s future music.

In addition to making another song with the Project Runway host and “another cool DJ,” the Major Lazer artist suggests, “You should work with NBA YoungBoy or something really crazy. I don’t know. Maybe like a rapper… Kodak Black. That’s what I’d love to see.”

“Red Eye” was released earlier this month and serves as the theme song for season 21 of Germany’s Next Topmodel.

Klum previously spoke about the possibility of making a Halloween anthem in a 2024 interview with PEOPLE.

“I’ve always wanted to have a TV show once a year where people can show me their designs, like a Halloween design special,” she said at the time. “Maybe that will happen someday because it kind of goes along with fashion, my creativity and things that I love doing. But to do a Halloween anthem, I have not thought of that. That’s a very good idea. I love that idea.”
