Heidi Klum as E.T.

Klum went extraterrestrial for her 2024 Halloween party, where she underwent a complete transformation to become the most iconic character of 1982: E.T.

“As a nine year old in Germany, E.T. introduced me to the idea that there’s life outside planet earth,” she wrote on Instagram. “So for the last year, we all put our heads together to figure out how to put my own stamp on such an iconic character.”

She continued, “I know E.T. wanted to go home, but I hope that if the movie took place in 2024 that my favorite extra terrestrial would come to my party instead.”

Heidi Klum as a Worm

Klum was again unrecognizable at her Halloween party in 2022, which she showed up to dressed as a worm. That’s right: the retired supermodel stepped into a life-sized worm-shaped costume for the night, which took multiple artists hours upon hours to create.

“This was very hard, I was very claustrophobic,” Klum later said while visiting Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “Because basically they had to tie my arms down in order to be in this position. And then my face was like glued to the outside of it, so I couldn’t really move my face any which way. I was just stuck.”

For her inaugural Halloween party, Klum opted for a look that now seems tame by her own standard. A hybrid of punk meets S&M, she raised the temperature in a black latex dirndl (she is German after all) with dog tooth collars, armbands, and milkmaid-style braids.

Back in 2002, Klum opted to dress as the Depression Era cartoon character Betty Boop. While this look is easily emulated in a figure-hugging red dress, cropped black curly wig, overdrawn eyebrows, and an exaggerated red lip, Klum insisted on going the extra mile with the addition of fake cleavage.

Speaking of a red frock and a va-va-voom faux chest… Klum put her spin on the animated sex symbol Jessica Rabbit in 2015. As it’s not exactly the world’s most original costume (Alessandra Ambrosio even showed up to the party with the same idea), Klum ensured she took the biscuit by opting for a full prosthetic makeover. In 2014, Klum walked the NYC streets as a butterfly before showing up to her party. This being Klum, the costume included sparkling, to-scale wings taller than her, an elaborate cat suit, and a headpiece featuring bug-eyes.

“I have no problem with bugs and spiders or snakes and that kind of stuff. I like them,” Klum said in an Instagram video.
